It was effectively going to be a compilation but it became blindingly obvious that a bloke playing guitar was not the answer.
I roped in a graphic designer mate of mine, Steve Malpass, who was a guitar tragic and we hatched a plot to get a quality electric guitar made in the shape of Australia, complete with Tasmania, (Rama Guitars did that brilliantly).
I could use it as a photo prop and then a competition prize.
Maybe it was the spirit of the times, (the Zeitgeist), but I wanted an outer space background, so a visit to Hugh's was in order.
Now, guitars in the shape of countries are as common as catshit but, at the time it was well worth mucking around with fishing line and bits of Mechano.
